Loomis Forest Fund
Conservation Northwest's collaborative effort to protect much of the Loomis State Forest--great wild lynx habitat--in northern WA was a huge success!
In 1999, the Loomis Forest Fund, spearheaded by Conservation Northwest, raised $16.5 million in 12 months to protect 25,000 acres of the Loomis Forest, while compensating the school trust to bolster education. These forests in north-central Washington are critical habitat for lynx and a host of other wildlife, and the historic win was a boon to future generations of people and wildlife.
