Endangered Species Day is a chance for everyone to celebrate and learn about the endangered species near us and what we can do to help them.

Here in the Northwest we have quite a few endangered species living around us. The grizzly bears in the Cascades are still having a hard time, its estimated there are only 10-20 remaining. Pikas may soon be a new addition to the endangered species list, the US Fish and Wildlife is expected to announce their status in February 2010. The Canadian lynx, wolverines and mountain caribou all still need our help too.
