From here on out every other month the Gifford Pinchot Task Force, and Conservation NW will team up to invite you to monthly volunteer potlucks in Olympia

Come learn about the current campaign we're working on, take action on the spot (such as writing a letter to your elected officials or planning a legislative lobby visit), and enjoy some great food and drink. These fun potlucks are hosted by supporters in their homes, and guests are asked to bring a dish to share. Please bring food or drink to share.

Where: June’s potluck will be graciously hosted at Ellen’s home at: 1823 Orange St. SE., Olympia, 98501.  Ellen requests that you bring organic food if at all possible, and if you bring a meat dish please make sure the meat is organic.  Thank you Ellen for hosting for the first time!

The Topics: This week’s potluck will focus Senator Wyden’s Thinning Legislation—I’ll update you on what it looks like so far and what the environmental communities concerns are regarding the legislation and it’s implications for the region.  The second topic is in regard to off-highway-vehicle use on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest—we will be looking for volunteers to get out in the field and groundtruth/get baseline data on where OHV use is occurring, where it is having the largest impact, and to generally assess the severity of that impact.  The work on OHV impacts will help the Forest Service with their travel planning they are required to do.

Please RSVP with Julia: julia@gptaskforce.org or 503-221-2102 x103.  **If it’s the day of the potluck after 2:30 PM you can contact her on her cell phone to RSVP at 503-347-3599
