Public training for volunteers interested in tracking and identifying signs of these elusive animals in the wild. Plus a holiday party and celebration of our past remote camera program.
Plus, learn how to identify wolverines and their tracks at this FREE training.
Already suffering in the United States from trapping, habitat loss, and other human actions, the wolverine, a solitary animal known for its ability cross mountain ranges and cover large distances, is especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
Unfortunately, the Bush administration reversed a decision made by field and regional biologists warranting protection for wolverines under the Endangered Species Act.
Join our team of citizen wildlife monitors and head into the back country to look for and record signs left by these elusive animals. Confirming the presence of rare carnivores helps inform the land management decisions upon which our wildlife depend.
With snowpack in the western mountains in decline due to climate change, Washington State may be one of the last suitable habitats for this unique animal. Luckily over the last ten years there have been several confirmed sightings: in the mountains above the Methow Valley, in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, and in areas above Leavenworth.
Please RSVP with Jen to secure your spot at this party.
