Trail work parties

Volunteer outdoor work is a fun, fulfilling way to get outside and give something back to the trails in wild places. Remember, wildlife use these trails too!

Spend time outside on the trails

Along with our hike series, volunteer trail work is a fun, fulfilling way to get out in nature with old and new friends, learn about wilderness traditions and tools, and give something back to the trails that make it possible for so many of us to enjoy our treasured wild places and wildlife.

We coordinate our trail projects with those done by the Washington Trails Association, our state’s tireless hiking trail advocacy and trail maintenance group. Their trail work program started in 1993 with a focus on the west side of the state. Now the WTA has expanded efforts to eastside trails, largely on the Colville. They need our help to make this program grow.

Washington Trails Association trail work parties
For 2012, WTA has several work parties throughout western Washington, though none yet in northeastern Washington. We expect they will have some soon. Visit their website for more information and to sign up.
