Attend this official scoping session on plans to build a proposed new bulk-cargo shipping terminal at Cherry Point plus rail spur improvements in Seattle.

The Gateway Pacific Terminal on the coast north of Bellingham would serve coal trains and cargo shipped through Spokane and other communities for burning in Asia. Probable harm to a unique species like the Cherry Point herring is only one impact of the project.

You can also take action online here. The scoping period ends January 21, 2013.

Comments made at official sessions or submitted in writing during the scoping process will help inform the type and the geographic scope of impacts to be included in the environmental impact statement for the project.
