Official rules and description of March Membership Madness
Membership drive details
The goal of March Membership Madness is to increase the dues-paying membership and Wildland Partners Giving Program supporters of Conservation Northwest, in order to both increase revenue and the base of supporters for our work to protect and connect wild places from the Washington coast to the BC Rockies. We are enlisting the help of existing members, volunteers, and interns to accomplish this goal.
During March, we are offering a special minimum membership donation of $15 per family/household (reg $35) for all new members. And for 2008, every new member who joins will get their donation matched through a challenge fund!
For this membership drive and its contests, new members may be referred by 3 methods:
• Existing members may refer friends who are not yet members
• New members may self-refer (from website, email alerts, complimentary newsletters distributed locally, etc)
• Volunteers and interns of Conservation Northwest may refer friends or non-members who visit an information table at various outreach events.
A referral occurs when a person who was previously not a member of Conservation Northwest donates $15 or more during the month of March. The donation from the new member must note the name of the existing member or volunteer who referred him or her in order for that referrer to receive credit for the contest and raffle described below. Self-referrers do not need to name another member or volunteer. Gift memberships do not count as referrals.
Contest overview
The contest begins March 1, 2008 and ends March 31, 2008. To be counted, mailed donations and Wildland Partner forms must be postmarked by March 31, 2008 and phone or web donations and/or Wildland Partner signups must occur on or before 11:59PM PST March 31, 2008. A new member family/household includes all people living at a single address, and multiple memberships may not be counted from one address or from the same person using a different address. New members cannot have previously been a member of Conservation Northwest (formerly Northwest Ecosystem Alliance). Only new Wildland Partners who join during March 1, 2008 and March 31, 2008 are qualified for the raffle.
Raffle entries
A random drawing will occur following the end of the contest period and the tabulation of all entries into the raffle will accrue as follows:
1. All new member family/households that join during the month of March will be given one entry into the raffle drawing.
2. Existing members or volunteers will be given two entries into the raffle for every new member families/households that join and name that existing member as the referrer.
3. New members who join in March and receive an entry per #1 above are then considered existing members on their donation date and may proceed to refer other new members, receiving raffle entries as listed above in #2
4. All new Wildland Partner members will receive three raffle entries.
Raffle contestants may only win one prize (Conservation Northwest merchandise item of his/her choice), and any other entries in their name will be removed from the pool once they have won a prize.
Grand prize contest
The two members who refer the most people will win a grand prize of a Conservation Northwest gift basket with local goods. Grand prize winners will still be eligible for the general raffle.
