In neighborhoods across Washington, kids are bundling up--coats under costumes, of course--to head out in search of the best stash of sugary goodness. In the crisp fall air, some are wizards; some are superheroes; some are wolves, bears or wolverines (of several sorts).

Get ready for Homecoming

When I think of “Homecoming,” I can still feel the excitement that came with my favorite football team taking the field in October to cheers and bright lights. To many of us, the word itself brings memories of high school days: of fancy dresses, dances, and school spirit. To us at Conservation Northwest, we thought this occasion could not fit more perfectly with the return home of some of Washington’s wildest animals, including wolves, wolverines, and fishers.

He thinks changing national and local policies are important for creating real change on the ground. And he appreciates the role that Conservation Northwest plays. “Two of the things Conservation Northwest does right is being collaborative, and looking at the science. They are also out front on a lot of issues such as connecting wildlife habitat and purchasing easements on private land – they’re not just talking about it; they’re doing it,” said Floyd. “And Mitch picks his battles smartly.”
