Thanks for a wild Northwest!

Like many of you, I spend the holidays with family, enjoying the beauty of Washington's wildest places and my time with family. I am thankful for the mossy, old forests of the Olympic Peninsula I can wander with my nieces, and Conservation Northwest is thankful for supporters like you! What will you be thankful for this season?

Thanks for a wild Northwest!

As the Membership Associate for Conservation Northwest, this time of holiday gratitude gives me an opportunity to connect with Conservation Northwest members. Donations from people like you ensure a healthy future for wildlife and people. Thank you for giving the best gift of all—a wild Northwest!

I’ll be gathering with family on the Olympic Peninsula for the upcoming holidays. We often go for walks at Marymere Falls or Hurricane Ridge and spend time enjoying the magnificent beauty that’s in our own backyard—a blessing we frequently forget in our daily lives. It’s so rewarding for me to see my two nieces experience the same mossy, old forests, remarkable waterfalls, and peaceful trails I explored as a child. This is where members help us successfully reintroduce fisher last year. Though fisher are reclusive and it’s unlikely I will see one, I’ll be thinking of them while enjoying their neck of the woods! Seeing these critters returned to their native stomping grounds after so many years makes me even more proud to work on your behalf here at Conservation Northwest.

Each winter, my family collects tree boughs and other natural decorations. We weave a wreath that hangs at my sister’s house for the coming year. It’s a way to connect with each other and our surroundings and to build our family, heritage, and community ties. I appreciate this season of reaffirming significant people in my life.

You are an integral part of the Conservation Northwest community, and your partnership helps us keep the Northwest wild in so many ways. I like to think that collectively we are weaving an even greater conservation wreath together for future generations of people and wildlife to experience. Thank you so much!
