You did it! I-1033 fails the vote.

Times are tough enough, I-1033 will only make them worse.

Thank you for voting no on I-1033! Read more about your win here!

Tim Eyman's at it again. Please join Conservation Northwest and a myriad of other conservation, education, and civic groups as we let voters know about Tim Eyman's latest bad idea: Initiative I-1033. Your vote counts! Please pledge to vote no on I-1033. Even better–lend just a few hours of your time this month to ensure our cities, schools, parks, farms, and wild places are receive the funds they need well into our future.

In last year's Washington State budget, the recession led to natural resource agency funding being slashed by about 25%. It was the largest reduction taken by any area of government. Tim Eyman's harmful initiative proposes to cap future budgets at this recession year's tight-belted levels.

A similar initiative (TABOR) passed in Colorado in 1992 and the effects have been devastating. A coalition of civic groups, business leaders, and Republican Governor Bill Owens joined together in 2005 to help pass a referendum to suspend it for five years. Over 30 other states have rejected similar proposals. Washington can not go down this same destructive path.

take-action-button.jpgPlease visit our Bellingham office every Wednesday and Thursday in October from 5:30-8:30 pm to volunteer on this important campaign to stop Eyman's I-1033. There will be pizza and beer, of course!
Please let Andrea Lawson know you are coming, 360.671.9950 x28.

Other cities are also hosting phone banks.
In Seattle, WEC is also hosting volunteers at their downtown office. Email keri@wecprotects.org
