Tour the Colville roadless areas

— filed under:

The Northeast Washington Forestry Coalition, of which Conservation Northwest is a member, is recommending roadless areas on the Colville National Forest for wilderness protection.

The Colville National Forest of northeast Washington features wilderness-quality roadless lands, many of them recommended by the Northeast Washington Forestry Coalition, which includes local timber mills, and Conservation Northwest for formal wilderness protection. Please click on the links below to read more about each special area.

Take a photographic virtual tour of the roadless areas. All photos by Eric Zamora, except where noted.

The map's dark green line shows the outline of the Colville National Forest. Kelly green are inventoried roadless areas. Bright pink is existing wilderness, the Salmo Priest Wilderness Area, representing less than 3% of the total forest.
