Wild Links 2007
Summary page for the 2007 Wild Links conference in Ellensburg, WA focused on the North Cascades ecoregion.
Washington's North Cascades Ecoregion
On September 10th, 2007, over fifty people gathered at Central Washington University around this year's theme of "Washington's Cascades: I-90 and North." The event highlighted the amazing combined efforts of many to understand and improve the landscape of the North Cascades.Another event is planned for September 2008.
The first Wild Links included an impressive program agenda and list of speakers. In the morning panelists--Bill Gaines (USFS), Jeff Krupka (USFWS), and Denise Joines (Wilburforce Foundation)--addressed questions about landscape-level challenges to wildlife, touching on ongoing efforts and what we are doing right. In the afternoon they returned to review gaps in our current efforts, looking ahead to next steps and a vision for this landscape.
