Part of our Communications team, Keiko Betcher coordinates our in-person and online outreach, supports various written and graphic communications including mapping and publications, and works closely with our Central Cascades, I-90 Willdife Corridor and Cascades to Olympics conservation programs.

Up until she went to school at Western Washington University, Keiko grew up living on several islands across the globe. As a result, she is a natural beachcomber with an affinity for wilderness and people. At Western, Keiko studied geography and discovered her love for communications during her time as Editor-in-Chief of The Planet, a student-run environmental magazine. She developed an admiration for the non-profit sector during her experience at the Washington Trails Association, where she wrote for their blog and magazine. She feels most inspired by stories that connect people to their environments, and hopes she can share that connection with others through her work. Keiko also finds inspiration from reading, music and a good map.
